Each year group has two mornings dedicated to ‘Tutor-Led Reading’.

• In year 7, students will read various novels, including ‘Boot It!’ by A.M Dassu, ‘The Final Year’ by Matt Goodfellow, and ‘Skellig’ by David Almond.
•  In year 8, students will read novels including ‘Fight Back’ by A.M Dassu and ‘Coraline’ by Neil Gaiman.
•  Year 9 students read various short stories, by authors including Anthony Horrowitz, Ray Bradbury and Bali Rai.
•  Key Stage 4 students will read a variety of fiction and non-fiction texts in preparation for their GCSE studies.

 Through our form time reading programme, students will be exposed to a multitude of different texts, and therefore a wealth of vocabulary. All texts stimulate valuable discussions, as well as encouraging reading for pleasure.
