Welcome to Your New School

Information for New Students

Hello, new students and parents, and a very warm welcome to your information page, which contains everything you’ll need to guide you through joining us at The Earls High School.

Moving to a new secondary school is a big step and we can’t wait to begin the journey with you!

We know how important it is to make sure that you feel supported during this time. Our transition process aims to:

  • Develop your confidence and prepare you for secondary school.
  • Ignite your enthusiasm about the new subjects and opportunities you will have.
  • Introduce you to some of the key members of staff you will be working with.

On this page you’ll find welcome videos  and activities for you to get involved in, which could lead to receiving your House Flash when you join us! There is also lots of important information for parents and carers.

The link below from Anna Freud Centre may also provide some useful information in regards to transition.

Year 6 House Flash Challenge

At The Earls High School, you will see lots of students wearing flashes (badges) on their jumpers. They are very proud of these flashes, which represent achievements in all sorts of aspects of school life. House flashes are awarded for representing your House in a competition, but this year, you have the chance to earn yours before you even start, by completing our House Flash Challenge workbook.

You will see that there are lots of activities to choose from, and you might do some of them at your primary school, too. To earn your House flash, you’ll need to score at least 10 points.
