Musical talent on display at the Summer Concert
Last week was the Earls High School Summer Concert with a whooping 136 students involved in the event. The performance was a sell-out within a couple of days and so our fantastic livestream of the event enabled over 300 friends and family to watch from home!!
All of our school music ensembles featured in the evening performance, following an intense day of rehearsals when all students were brought together for the first time. Performances included greats such as Valerie (Choir), Caravan (Jazz Band) and Seven Nation Army (Orchestra and Little Big Band).
The concert also included a Staff Choir performance, an ensemble which has also seen some serious growth this academic year. Our finale piece this year was arranged by our new music teacher Mr Cajigal, and was a collaboration between all of the music ensembles performing Can’t Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake!
Students described the day as ‘a great day full of new experiences’ and ‘a great end to their first year at the Earls’
All music extracurricular activities will resume in September; look out for posters to see which afternoon each of the ensembles is on. Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier!
