In September, James Morris, our local MP launched a competition for 14-18 year old students in local schools. With the COP 26 environmental summit on the horizon, James asked local students to reflect on their vision for a low carbon future. With the support of the Geography Department, 60 year 10 and 11 students submitted an entry.
Davina, in year 11, submitted a letter setting out what she and her family do personally to help the environment and her hopes for the outcome of the COP 26 summit. Her submission really impressed the judges and as a result, she was invited to attend a round table meeting with local business and government representatives, hosted by James. We are proud that Davina was able to pass on her views and represent the young people of Halesowen at this important meeting.
A big thank you to all students who entered the competition and in particular Mya-Rose, Leoni, Charlie and Shennel, who were all short listed.
This is such a fantastic achievement for all our students involved!
