Learning Support

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

The Earls High School is an inclusive school. It is our aim to ensure that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are included in all aspects of school life and experience a fully inclusive curriculum.

Our experienced Learning Support team work closely with our Pastoral and Academic leaders to ensure that the needs of our learners are fully understood, and that strong support is put in to place to allow them to succeed.

This is achieved by ensuring that the 4 areas of need, as set out in the SEND Code of Practice, are met:

  • Cognition and Learning Needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs
  • Communication and Learning Needs
  • Sensory and/or Physical Needs

Every student at The Earls High School has the opportunity to follow all National Curriculum subjects, as well as following an appropriate personalised curriculum pathway that offers alternative qualifications. We are committed to narrowing the attainment gap between SEND and non-SEND students.

The Earls High School’s SEND Co-ordinator is Mr Stuart Berry; he can be contacted at sberry@earls.dudley.sch.uk.

Parents wishing to make a complaint about our SEND provison should refer to the Complaints Policy which can be found here.

Local authorities are required to publish a local offer of provision for students with SEND; a link to the Dudley Local Offer can be found here.
