Today The Earls High School welcomed their Year 11 students through their doors for their socially distanced GCSE exam results morning. For some students, it was the first time they had stepped back into The Earls High School since March. In the last five months, the students have been faced with more challenges than ever before and the school could not be more proud of them.
Assistant Headteacher Amie Houlston commented, “Although the awarding process this year was different to normal, we believe that the achievements of our students today reflected their hard work, commitment and determination demonstrated in their five years as students of The Earls High School. These excellent grades are also thanks to the dedicated support of parents and the strong foundations gained by attending local primary schools. Our results today are celebrated not only by our students but our hard-working and dedicated staff. The process of awarding Centre Assessed Grades was rigorous and complex but we are delighted that it enabled our students to be awarded the grades that they deserved.”
Particular recognition goes to Toby Mann who achieved 9 grade 9’s, James Thomas who achieved 6 grade 9’s and Miriam Maeda, Rebekah Bruce, Athene McCann and Hannah Newton who all achieved 5 grade 9’s.
Headteacher Jamie Fox said, “We are immensely proud of all of our students and we are confident that they can now move forward from their time at The Earls High School onto new challenges in their post 16 education. We would like to congratulate all year 11 students at The Earls for everything they have achieved in such a tumultuous and difficult year and wish them the best of luck for their future.”
