Lord Rooker Visits The Earls

Students from Year 11 spent the afternoon with Labour peer, Lord Rooker, on Friday, in order to learn about the sometimes arcane workings of the UK Parliament’s upper house. After a fascinating outline of the work undertaken in the House of Lords and its function within our political system, Lord Rooker took questions from members of the Junior Leadership Team. His Lordship gave some interesting answers to  questions on topics ranging from assisted dying, to the legal voting age, but when asked for a simple explanation of the current Brexit chaos, he respectfully declined the challenge.
