Year 8 Death Mask Project

Year 8 students have been working hard on their textiles designs while learning about how people from another culture remember their loved ones who have passed away. The Mexican Day of The Dead, Día de Muertos, is an opportunity to pray for those who have died and to celebrate lives that have been. Those involved often wear colourful masks depicting death as they parade. The festival is believed to have been celebrated in some form for around 3000 years.
