Students from various years, including Year 10s studying Creative Digital Media Production, were treated to a behind the scenes look at a major film production when they visited Warner Brothers’ Harry Potter Studios on June 22nd. Gigantic models of Hogwarts and huge animatronic spiders featured among the thousands of exhibits, all of which were used in the making of the Harry Potter films. Students walked through elaborate sets and saw exquisitely detailed costumes, once worn by the likes of Michael Gambon, Daniel Ratcliffe, Alan Rickman and Emma Watson. A unique insight into pre-production was offered in the form of stunning concept artwork, detailed storyboards and set construction plans. Students were also able to get first hand experience of filming techniques and special effects.
