On Thursday morning (at the rather ungodly hour of 5am) we embarked on our Disney Samba and Choir Tour. After an epic journey across land and sea we arrived at Le Bois du Lys, which was to be ‘home’ for the next 4 days! We had a lovely evening meal together and then students had time to settle in and unpack.
On Friday my eyes witnessed the time of 5:45am for the second day running as we woke the students and prepared them for a full day in Paris! We drove into central Paris and performed two concerts at a primary school which was situated a couple of hundred meters from the Eiffel Tower. The primary children adored the music and rapidly treated our students as though they were celebrities! After eating a spot of picnic lunch we had a tour of all the main attractions in Paris including the ‘Arc de Triomphe’ the ‘Champs-Élysées’ and many more. We then took a trip up the Montparnasse Tower which overlooks the whole of Paris. On returning to the hotel, students had a chance to utilise the sports facilities and had some relaxation time.
Saturday, you guessed it, another early start and a journey to Disney Land. Here the students enjoyed their second performance of the tour and were sensational in both their vocal and samba deliveries. After an intense performance students spent the rest of the day letting off steam by being adrenaline junkies on the various rides and immersing themselves in all things Disney for the day.
On Sunday we traveled home but with the inclusion of a detour to a lovely traditional French restaurant where we all had a smashing meal together. The ferry home saw the tour awards ceremony and at 9pm, 42 rather exhausted and sleepy students greeted their parents!
A wonderful tour where the students were a true asset to The Earls, I’m mighty proud of their achievements.
