Paralympian Gold Medallist Signs Earls Commemorative Plaque

On Thursday 29th September, we had the enormous privilege of inviting one of our highest achieving sporting alumni back to the Earls to celebrate her recent Rio 2016 Paralympic games success. Helen Scott left us just over 10 years ago and has enjoyed a career as a full time GB track cyclist. Helen won a gold and bronze medal in Rio and arrived at school to be greeted by a delegate of staff and students who enjoyed holding the medals and talking about all things Rio 2016 !!

There was a little formality to the visit in that Helen was presented and signed a tandem bicycle commemorative piece which will  be displayed in our ‘celebrating success’ area of the school.
We wish Helen every success in the forthcoming World Championships and look forward to seeing her again when she next visits the Earls. We are incredibly proud of her achievements and can’t wait to hear about her next successes.
