Mr Loveday met with Jude and Caleb to celebrate their nominations as stars of the week. Jude has worked particularly hard in design technology, completing his work to a high standard (excellence) and then worked in partnership with the teacher to help others in his class who were absent to ensure that they wouldn’t be too far behind in their project on their return (care). Caleb started at The Earls in September and struggled to settle into secondary school, finding it hard to sit quietly and focus on his work. There was a turning point just before Christmas where he improved his behaviour for learning and this has continued throughout January to the point where there is a noticeable difference in his behaviour in class. He is now making much better progress (excellence), is causing less distraction to his peers allowing them to improve their progress and is working in partnership with his teachers.
They were overjoyed to receive their dinner passes from Mr Loveday, giving them five days access to the front of the dinner queue.
